Dr Kian Tan - Consultant Plastic Surgeon MBChB(Hons), MRes(Merit), MFSTEd, PGCert Advanced Surgery, FRCS(Plast)

Dr Kian is a UK-trained Consultant Plastic Surgeon on the GMC Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery. His cosmetic surgery practice is located in Manchester, Cheshire & Lancashire. He completed his plastic surgery higher specialist training in Manchester and the prestigious National Oncoplastic Fellowship at The Royal London Hospital and St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London.

He has won multiple national awards in plastic surgery, including being awarded the best plastic surgeon in the UK for 2 years in a row:

Dr Kian

Dr Kian has had extensive cosmetic surgery training at multiple world-renowned centres spanning multiple continents.

He underwent a Fellowship in Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery in Sydney, Australia where he was awarded the Certificate in Advanced Surgery from Macquarie University, Sydney. Dr Kian was also awarded the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) & British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) Aesthetic Fellowship to fine-tune his cosmetic surgery skills at Cadogan Clinic, a leading cosmetic surgery centre in the heart of Chelsea, London. He has spent further time in New York and Boston, USA learning from world-leading experts in cosmetic surgery.

Dr Kian completed a Masters degree in Tissue Engineering for Regenerative Medicine at the University of Manchester and he has published research in the breadth of plastic surgery including in the areas of wound healing, skin scarring, breast cancer/reconstruction and aesthetic surgery. He has given over 40 presentations, including invited lectures at international and national conferences, and has written book chapters in the field.

Teaching & Research

Teaching

Dr Kian is an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Manchester and has been a member of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers (Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh) since 2014. He is passionate about teaching plastic surgery trainee doctors, junior doctors and medical students. He regular teaches at plastic surgical skills courses and has also been an examiner for plastic surgery trainee doctors and medical students.
