When deciding to undergo a breast augmentation one of the most common questions I get asked by patients in the consultation is:
How long will my implants last for?
Although implants don’t have a “shelf life,” if they start to cause symptoms in the future, they might need to be changed. Over ten years, over half of the women will need some revision procedure. However, this is only general guidance because some implants last significantly longer than others.
How long is the recovery time?
Although recovery times vary greatly depending on the individual, most people need between 7 and 14 days. Normally, we would advise taking a week off of work, but depending on your recovery time and the kind of work you do, you might start working again sooner or later. After your procedure, you could be required to wear a sports bra, post-surgical band, or other item for six weeks. Although this varies from person to person, full results usually take at least six weeks.
What will the aftercare involve?
Good postoperative care, in my opinion, is just as crucial as the procedure itself. After your procedure, you will receive contact information in case you have any questions. After your procedure, you will have a clinic appointment about a week later. The wound is now examined to make sure it is healing properly and is free of infection. After your surgery, you will have a thorough review consultation with me to ensure that you are satisfied with the outcomes and to receive long-term aftercare recommendations.
How do I book in for an appointment?
You will first need to book in for a consultation with myself. Here I will explain the process and discuss the outcome you are looking to achieve with your breast augmentation and even complete the treatment on the day.
