Finding a surgeon you can trust is your most critical decision during your plastic surgery journey.

Throughout the blog below, I will highlight the things you need to look out for and aspects you need to consider to find a surgeon best suited to your needs.

Firstly make it clear what outcome you desire.

Where do you want the surgery? Why do you want the surgery? When do you want the surgery? – These are all the essential factors you need to settle on before anything.

Before you begin your search, you should be honest with yourself about your objectives and expectations for the procedure.

In an ideal situation, contact and speak with others who have already undergone your desired surgery and assess whether or not you are being reasonable and precise in your expectations for what the surgery will achieve.

What should I be looking for in my surgeon?

There are many aspects you should be looking out for from your surgeon. Ideally, you would want someone who has the following:

– A surgeon who has completed speciality training in plastic surgery (that specialises in the like of breast augmentation, tummy tucks, lipo, etc.)

– A surgeon that is on the GMC Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery

– Full member of BAAPS (https://baaps.org.uk/patients/surgeons/6b4f2517-80bb-435c-9839-6f9db1852b16)

– Full member of BAPRAS (https://www.bapras.org.uk/home/member-details/71bafbb0-3de6-fee9-09dc-39fa04375661)

– A surgeon that has Royal College of Surgeons Cosmetic Surgery Certification

– Dedicated Fellowship experience in Cosmetic Surgery

It may also be helpful to find a surgeon who is an expert in their field with published research and experience in teaching, training and lecturing at international conferences.

What qualifications and certificates do I have?

As a surgeon, I have successfully obtained all of the above certificates/memberships. Let me go into more detail for you regarding my training.

I completed a Fellowship in Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery in Sydney, Australia, and received a Certificate in Advanced Surgery from Macquarie University. I was also awarded the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) and British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) Aesthetic Fellowship to hone my cosmetic surgery skills at Cadogan Clinic, a leading cosmetic surgery centre in Chelsea, London. I also spent time learning from world-renowned cosmetic surgery experts in New York and Boston, USA.

I earned a Master’s degree in Tissue Engineering for Regenerative Medicine from the University of Manchester and have published research in wound healing, skin scarring, breast cancer/reconstruction, and aesthetic surgery. I’ve delivered numerous presentations, including invited lectures at international and national conferences, and produced several book chapters on the topic.

Should I read reviews of the surgeons first?

Absolutely! Reading through some patient experiences before booking a consultation is strongly recommended. No one can quite describe the patient’s journey quite as well as the patient’s.

If you want to read reviews from my previous patients, head to my reviews page.

How do I book a plastic surgery Consultation?

You will first need to book a consultation with me. Here I will explain the process and discuss the outcome you want to achieve with your chosen procedure.
